Crystal and Glass Hand Made
Wheel Engravings
Our work is a perfect combination of craftsmanship and the magic of creation and only the understanding and control of the material can bring it to life. This is the very essence of our work.
A difficult and challenging path which produces an elegant Art form. Fragile creations which make a sound statement of expertise, ability and elegance.
In the town of Altare, we continue one of the most difficult traditions of glass making. A tradition which we have been developing generation after generation over fifty years.
Vanessa, while visiting her family's workshop when she only was ten, started learning the secrets of the glyptic glassmaking on the wheel. Her Art studies, which include: a Diploma in Arts, studies at the European Institute of Design in Turin, Master Courses and her thorough analysis and investigation of the ways of processing and working glassware as well as her painstaking and continuous application to the Art of Engraving have all contributed to her extraordinary ability in designing and creating objects d'Art. In 1993, in her own workshop together with reliable craftsmen she started producing her own lines of engraved class work. She also started working for internationally important companies. In 1997, due to her recognized abilities, she was invited to participate in the opening of the first workshop of its type at the MACEF in Milan.
It was in that period that she started her lasting and fruitful collaboration with glass factories in Tuscany and Murano, with wholesalers, fashion designers as well as home designers such as C.DIOR for which she produced table pieces from 1998 to 2000. In 2000 Vanessa was recognized the status of international artist and designer when she was asked to participate in the 11th "DECORATION ET JARDIN" Exhibition in Monte Carlo, Principality of Monaco. Vanessa's name has appeared in trade papers and magazines with interviews and photo reportages of her creations which have been published in glossy magazines such as AD, MARIE CLAIRE MAISON, MENABO', GENTE CASA. |
